We got our inspection completed, and were given the green light to
proceed with enclosing the fireplace. We had the vent installed last
week, and the gas hookup was done today. I put the first coat of mud up
on the upper portion of the fireplace this evening. Two more coats to
go, then I'll need to start the finish work on the bookcases, the
mantle, and then the stone work.
